ELK GROVE, Calif. — Elk Grove will mark Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, with a community parade and a modified schedule for several city services.
Parade timing and destination
The City Manager’s Update says opening ceremonies will begin near the Cosumnes Community Services District administrative building and the Veterans Day parade will step off at 11:11 a.m., proceeding toward Elk Grove Park.
That information describes the city’s announced plan. The update says details about the full route and traffic advisories would be released separately. Drivers should therefore check the final route and restrictions, rather than assume every nearby road will be closed.
What’s closed November 11?
According to the same notice, City Hall, the Animal Shelter and the Special Waste Collection Center will be closed for the holiday. The city says trash and recycling services and police operations will continue on their normal schedules, though individual service requests may still be affected by holiday staffing.
City Council schedule change
The update also states that the regularly scheduled November City Council meeting will be moved to a special meeting on November 18. Residents hoping to speak on an agenda item should consult the final published agenda for the actual start time, location and comment procedures.
Plan ahead
Anyone needing an in-person city transaction should check office hours before the holiday. Parade visitors should use the city’s official site for current traffic information and avoid blocking driveways or emergency access.
